Academic by profession. Rider by passion.

Dr Vishwanath Bite earned his M.A. (2006) and PhD (2009) at Shivaji University, Kolhapur, specialising in Indian Writing in English, Indian English Drama and Postcolonial Literature. He has taught undergraduate and postgraduate students since 2006, and in June 2025 he was appointed Associate Professor in the Department of English at Government Vidarbha Institute of Science and Humanities, Amravati.

He is Founder & Editor-in-Chief of The Criterion (since 2010) and Galaxy IMRJ (since 2012), giving researchers from undergraduate to doctoral level an open, rigorous place to publish. He has written or edited twelve books and more than 38 research papers.

His teaching has long reached beyond the classroom. He has mentored UGC NET aspirants since 2012, and he is Co-Founder and Academic Author of Literary Rides, the English Studies platform founded by Dr Madhuri Bite. He builds learning apps, serves as Academic Adviser to RCELL, and is a co-proprietor of Design No. 466916-001 for a Language Learning Device.

Off campus, he rides a Royal Enfield across India and photographs wildlife along the way. The rides and the photographs are part of how he reads, writes and teaches.
